Kilim ARTS はイスタンブールをベースとするブランドです。1990年に設立され、1940’s~50’sのヴィンテージのトルコキリムやトルコ絨毯等を用いて、シューズ・バッグ・アクセサリーをデザインしています。色鮮やかだったカーペットは、長い年月をかけ、人々の暮らしの中で絶妙な色へと変化していきます。このヴィンテージ特有のカラーは現行の製品ではなかなか表現することはできません。そのため一点一点色味や柄が異なります。トルコの女性たちが気の遠くなるような手間をかけて織り上げた絨毯を新たな形にすることで、より長く残していけるものにしたいとのコンセプトでこのシューズは誕生しました。

Kilim ARTS is a brand based in Istanbul. It started in 1990 and designs quality shoes, bags, and accessories using handwoven vintage kilim and Turkish carpet from the 1940’s-50’s. The vivid carpets have changed over the years through people’s lives to superb colors. These colors are distinct as it is vintage, and cannot be produced by current products; each one of them is one-of-a-kind in its colors and patterns. The shoes were born with the concept of wanting to preserve further the hand-woven carpets that each take an overwhelmingly long time to make by the Turkish women.
